Doug
Journalist, Haley Leach and Sky Hensley interviewed Chillicothe Middle School’s day shift custodian, Doug. He said that the most favorite part of his job was talking and mingling with the students. Before becoming a custodian, he served in the United States Navy for eight years, he was an owner of a small business in Circleville, Ohio, and also worked for the Coca Cola Company. Being a custodian at the middle school has many responsibilities, such as making sure the cafeteria is clean for breakfast and lunch, setting up for special events, helping teachers with any of their request, and during the summer the biggest job is waxing the classrooms and hallways. Getting the building prepared for opening day is a huge job. Doug feels it is all worth the hard work to see the administration, teaching staff and students enjoying a clean building.
