Meet Tabitha Muse

Many people probably have seen Tabitha Muse in her office across from the cafeteria or have passed her walking down the hallway but probably never knew the importance of her position with the Chillicothe City School District. Tabitha Muse is employed with the district through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Program. The program is designed to ensure all homeless children and youth have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education as children and youth who are not homeless.  Tabitha Muse  advocates for over 300 homeless students in Chillicothe School District and works closely with policies to remove barriers to the enrollment, attendance, and success in school that many homeless children and youth may experience.  She doesn’t just help students, but she helps the entire family.  As the Homeless Coordinator she educates parents of their legal rights and helps parents make connections with other agencies who can provide assistance during the family's time of transition.  She works with several foundations in the areas such as Community Action, Sojourners and Metropolitan Housing.  Tabitha Muse is a board member for United Way. She loves her career and helping students and families.  Chillicothe City School District is fortunate to have Tabitha Muse responsible for helping and supporting our students. She is a valuable member of the Cavalier family.
