Meet Mr. Gilsdorf, seventh grade science teacher!  Mr. Gilsdorf is happily married and a father of two young children.  He is anxiously waiting for the birth of his third child in June.  He has been an educator with Chillicothe City School District for eight years.  He originally thought a career as a video game designer would be fascinating; his family of educators encouraged him to pursue a career in education. He is currently creating a new game to offer students during a Sharpen the Saw activity- he is still able to utilize his interest in game design.  Mr. Gilsdorf is a easy going instructor.  His lessons center around group projects.  Students are finishing up the semester by creating their own type of Rube Goldberg machine which is a contraption that is deliberately over-engineered to perform a simple task in a complicated manner. Cameron Hall is working with a group designing a series of events which allows a ball to roll into a cup. The process includes dominoes which collapse on each other, and moves a yard stick.  The yard stick sets another group of dominoes into motion, and send a golf ball into motion. The end result is the golf ball resting inside a cup. Cameron has a better understanding of the laws of motion and kinetic energy through the opportunity to explore these concept first hand.
