Marsha Wike returned to Chillicothe, Ohio, from Hawaii. She grew up in Ohio and when she turned eighteen she traveled across the United States to California, prior to moving to Hawaii. Her professional portfolio contains previous careers in management with Marriott Hotel in Hawaii and at an airport in California. She has always had an interest in science since she was an eighth grade student; she remembers her entire eighth grade year. The positive experience in science helped her decide to pursue a career in education as a science educator. Her style of teaching includes the use of interactive notebooks, foldables, projects, peer interaction and the use of videos to help concept in science come to life. Eighth grade science revolves around earth science, including the interior of the planet Earth and evolution. Marsha Wike does not like to always lecture the class and wants her students to be involved in the action and participate in academic conversation while completing assignments.
