Caleb Lake is an 8th grade wrestler for Chillicothe Middle School. He began wrestling six years ago through Chillicothe’s Pee Wee Wrestling Program- after his mother encouraged him to participate when he was in third grade. Today, he enjoys the wrestling program here at CMS because of the comradely with the other wrestlers. Lake values being involved with school sports and recognizes the importance of being part of the leadership for the school. This year CMS has a smaller team of wrestlers than in the past. Kyle Ramsey is the coach for both 7th and 8th grade. The team practices Monday through Friday in the high school. The matches are held on Saturdays and this year all six are away. The team will participate in two tournaments. During matches the weight of the wrestler always matters because the opponent will always be in the same weight class. This makes the match more fair and competitive for both wrestlers. Caleb Lake is the first in his family to wrestle. His younger brother is an upcoming wrestler for Chillicothe City School District. The journalism staff looks forward to following Lake's wrestling career this year! Good Luck Cavaliers!
